| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse of this cast brass cash coin features three Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged horizontally flanking the central square hole. To the left of the perforation appears the character 一 (Yi, meaning 'one'), and to the right appears the character 寧 (Ning), the abbreviated mint mark for the Jiangning Mint. Below the square hole, the character 厘 (Li) completes the denominational inscription 一厘 (Yi Li), denoting the coin's official weight equivalent of one li, or one-thousandth of a liang of silver. The characters are raised in bold relief against a plain, flat field, enclosed within a wide, undecorated outer rim consistent with early Qing casting practices. |
