Obverse description Central square perforation flanked by four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform fashion within a plain raised rim. The four-character reign title reads clockwise from top: 順 (Shun), 治 (Zhi), 寳 (Bao), 通 (Tong), rendered in regular script (kaishu). The characters are bold and deeply incised into the cast brass flan, with a broad flat field between the central hole and the inner rim. The overall style is characteristic of early Qing dynasty cash coinage, with slightly uneven casting typical of provincial mint production.
