| Obverse description | Cast bronze cash coin featuring four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in cruciform reading order: top, bottom, right, left around a central square hole. The legend reads 水官通寳 (Shuiguan Tongbao), with each character occupying one quadrant of the field. The characters are boldly rendered in raised relief, set within a plain inner rim and an outer raised rim. The overall execution is typical of locally cast tribal coinage from the Yunnan-Guizhou region of the late fifteenth to early sixteenth century. |
