| Obverse description | Round cast bronze coin featuring a central square perforation surrounded by a raised inner rim. The four-character reign inscription 聖宋元寶 (Shengsong Yuanbao) is disposed in the traditional cross-reading arrangement — top, right, bottom, left — rendered in elegant clerical script (lishu). The characters are boldly cast in relief against a flat field, with well-defined strokes characteristic of Northern Song calligraphic style. An outer raised rim encircles the entire design, separating the legend field from the plain outer border. |

| Reverse description | Plain reverse presenting a central square perforation framed by a raised square inner rim, itself surrounded by a broad flat field devoid of any inscription or decorative element. A raised circular outer rim defines the coin's periphery. The surface shows characteristic casting texture with natural green patination consistent with aged bronze, typical of Northern Song dynasty cash coins. |
