Obverse description Round cast iron coin with a central square perforation surrounded by a raised square rim. The four-character reign title legend 慶元通寶 (Qingyuan Tongbao) is arranged in Regular script (kaishu) and read clockwise, with one character positioned at each cardinal point relative to the central hole. A raised circular rim defines the outer border of the coin. The surfaces exhibit the characteristically rough, porous texture typical of Southern Song iron cash, with extensive iron oxidation patina overall.
