| Obverse description | Cast copper cash coin featuring a central square hole flanked by four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform fashion, read top-to-bottom and right-to-left in the traditional manner. The legend 乾隆通寶 (Qian Long Tong Bao) is rendered in regular script (kaishu), with the reign title 乾隆 reading top and bottom, and 通寶 reading right and left. The characters are boldly raised within a plain, slightly raised rim, with flat fields between the legends and the central perforation. Light green patination is visible within the recesses of the design. |
