| Reverse description | Plain round field with a central square perforation, flanked on the left and right by two Manchu script characters in raised relief. The right character reads 'Boo' (ᠪᠣᠣ) and the left reads 'Jyi' (ᡷᡳ), together forming the Manchu transliteration 'Boo-jyi', identifying the Board of Revenue Mint (Hubu) in Beijing. The characters are rendered in the flowing, cursive style characteristic of Manchu script as used on Qing dynasty cash coins. The upper and lower fields between the square hole and the outer rim are plain and unadorned, bounded by a raised inner rim and a broad outer rim consistent with the obverse. |
