| Reverse description | The reverse is divided into two fields by the central square perforation, each carrying a single mint-name inscription in a different script. To the right of the square hole, the Uyghur-Arabic word اقسو (Aqsu) is cast in raised relief in Old Uyghur script; to the left, the corresponding Manchu word ᠠᡴᠰᡠ (Aksu) appears in Manchu script. Both inscriptions identify the Aksu mint in southern Xinjiang, following standard Qing practice for coins struck in the western territories. The legends are boldly rendered against a flat field, framed by inner and outer raised rims. |
