| Obverse description | Cast lead cash coin of standard round form with a central square hole flanked by four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), arranged in cruciform fashion and read in the traditional sequence top-bottom, right-left. The four ideograms 乾亨重寶 (Qianheng Zhongbao) are rendered in bold, slightly raised strokes within the flat field, separated by the inner square rim surrounding the perforation. The outer rim is raised and gently irregular, characteristic of period lead casting, with the overall surface exhibiting the rough, pitted texture typical of Southern Han lead issues. |
