Obverse description Cast iron cash coin of round form with a central square hole (方穿). The obverse bears a four-character reign title inscription 乾道元寶 (Qiandao Yuanbao) arranged in regular script (楷書) reading top-bottom-right-left in the traditional cross configuration around the central aperture. The characters are rendered in crisp, upright strokes characteristic of Southern Song iron coinage. The inner rim (好) and outer rim (廓) are both well-defined, and the fields show the uneven surface typical of iron cast coinage of the period. A crescent mark appears in the field as a mint or batch control symbol.
