| Obverse description | Central square perforation surrounded by a raised square rim, with four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in the four cardinal positions around the central hole, reading clockwise from top: 乾 (Qian), 道 (Dao), 元 (Yuan), 寶 (Bao). The legends are boldly cast with well-defined strokes against a flat field. The coin is bounded by a raised circular rim. The overall design is typical of Southern Song dynasty cash coinage, with balanced, upright regular-script calligraphy. |
