| Reverse description | Central square hole enclosed within a raised square frame, with the tamgha of Bukhara rendered in the surrounding annular field, using the hole itself as the central element of the device. The tamgha, a dynastic or civic emblem associated with the Bukharan Sogdian rulers, is distributed symmetrically around the square perforation. The surface shows a flat, largely unadorned field with traces of the tamgha's curvilinear elements visible in the four quadrants. The flan is irregularly struck, with a reddish-brown patina and areas of olive-green corrosion consistent with burial or prolonged oxidation. |
