| Obverse description | Central square hole surrounded by a Sogdian inscription disposed around all four sides of the perforation within the coin field. The legend, reading in Sogdian script, identifies the issuing ruler as Nanchu or Banchu with the title Er-Tegin. The flan is irregularly shaped, consistent with hammered production, and the surfaces show characteristic casting roughness. The field is otherwise plain, with no additional decorative elements. |
