Obverse description Round cast brass cash coin with a central square perforation, following the traditional Chinese yuan-fang-kong (round coin, square hole) format. The field bears four characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in a cruciform pattern around the central aperture, reading clockwise from top: 隆 (Lóng), 通 (Tōng), 武 (Wǔ), 寶 (Bǎo), together forming the reign-title legend 隆武通寶 (Lóngwǔ Tōngbǎo). The raised characters are bold and well-defined in style, set within a plain, unadorned field bounded by a slightly raised inner rim surrounding the square hole and a raised outer rim encircling the coin's edge. The surface exhibits a patina of brown and dark green consistent with aged brass.
