Obverse description Cast brass cash coin with a central square hole surrounded by a raised inner rim and an outer rim. Four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) are arranged in cruciform fashion around the central hole, read in the traditional order: top, bottom, right, left, forming the reign title inscription. The characters are rendered in bold raised relief against a flat field, typical of Qing dynasty cast coinage. The overall design is austere and highly standardized, consistent with official Kangxi-era production.
Obverse script Chinese (traditional, regular script)
Obverse lettering 康 寶 通 熙
(Translation: Kang Xi Tong Bao Kangxi (Emperor) / Universal currency)
