1 Cash - Kangxi Tongbao, Jang / Zhang

The "Jang" (or "Zhang") mint mark identifies this cash as struck at one of the temporary provincial mints established during the Qing suppression of the Three Feudatories — the rebellion led by Wu Sangui and his allies that convulsed southern China from 1673 to 1681. The Board of Revenue and Board of Works each operated satellite facilities during this period to fund the enormous military expenditure of the campaign, and the Jang series falls squarely within those emergency production years.

The rebellion's defeat in 1681 rendered these mints redundant almost immediately. Most were closed within two years of pacification.
