| Obverse description | Cast brass cash coin featuring a central square hole flanked by four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), arranged in cruciform reading order: top to bottom and right to left. The four ideograms read 康熙通寶 (Kangxi Tongbao), meaning 'Kangxi [Emperor's era] currency universally circulated.' The characters are rendered in bold, well-defined strokes within the coin's flat, undecorated field. No rim ornamentation or additional design elements are present, consistent with standard Qing dynasty cash coinage. |
