| Reverse description | Plain reverse field with a central square hole flanked by inner and outer rims, both somewhat irregular in profile. To the left of the square hole, the single mint identifier character 潭 (Tan, referring to Tanzhou mint) is cast in regular script (kaishu), appearing in relatively low relief consistent with a secondary casting from a worn or roughly prepared matrix. The remainder of the field is blank and shows the characteristic pitting and uneven surface texture typical of lead cash coinage from the Five Dynasties period. |
