| Obverse description | Central square perforation (cash hole) surrounded by a plain inner rim and a raised border ring. Four Chinese ideograms in Regular script (Kaishu) are arranged in cruciform fashion around the central hole, reading top, bottom, right, left: 靖康通寶 (Jingkang Tongbao). The characters are boldly cast in relief against a flat field, exhibiting the controlled, upright stroke style characteristic of Northern Song imperial calligraphy. The coin presents a broad, flat flan with a well-defined outer rim. |
