| Descrizione del dritto | Central square perforation flanked by four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform fashion, read in the traditional sequence top-to-bottom and right-to-left. The reign title inscription 嘉慶通寶 (Jiaqing Tongbao) is cast in regular script (kaishu) with raised characters on a plain field. The legend translates as 'Jiaqing [era] circulating treasure,' referencing the Jiaqing Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Outer and inner rims are raised and well-defined. The casting presents the typical stylistic conventions of Board of Revenue issues, with deliberate stroke rendering characteristic of official metropolitan output. |
