Reverse description Plain flat field centred by a raised-rim square perforation, with two Manchu script characters disposed symmetrically to the left and right of the central square hole. The character to the right reads 'Boo' (ᠪᠣᠣ) and to the left 'Fu' (ᡶᡠ), together forming the mint designation 'Boo-fu', identifying the Board of Revenue Mint in Beijing. The characters are cast in moderate relief against a recessed field, with a broad plain outer rim typical of Qing dynasty Board of Revenue issues.
