| Obverse lettering | 嘉 寶 通 慶 (Translation: Jia Qing Tong Bao Jiaqing (Emperor) / Universal currency) |
| Reverse description | The reverse displays two Manchu script syllables flanking the central square perforation, one character to the right and one to the left, read vertically in the Manchu manner. The inscription ᠪᠣᠣ ᡩᡠᠩ (Boo Dung) identifies the issuing mint, cast in raised relief against a flat, unornamented field bounded by a plain raised rim. The Manchu characters are rendered in the cursive style typical of Qing dynasty cash coinage and are clearly separated by the square central hole. |
