| Beschrijving voorzijde | Cast copper cash coin featuring four Chinese characters in seal script (篆書) arranged in cruciform fashion around a central square perforation. The characters are read top to bottom, right to left: 皇 (top), 陳 (right), 通 (bottom), 寶 (left), forming the legend 皇陳通寶 (Hoàng Trần Thông Bảo). The boldly rendered characters occupy the four quadrants of the flat, unornamented field, with a raised square rim surrounding the central hole and a plain outer border encircling the coin. The surface shows typical casting texture consistent with Vietnamese Trần dynasty monetary production. |
