Obverse description Cast copper cash coin of typical Vietnamese-Chinese style, featuring a central square perforation surrounded by a raised square rim. Four Chinese characters in seal script (chữ Hán) are disposed in the four cardinal positions around the central hole, reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left: 皇 (top), 陳 (right), 元 (left), 寶 (bottom), forming the reign title legend 皇陳元寶. The characters are rendered in bold relief against a flat field, with the coin exhibiting an irregular flan and characteristic green-brown patination consistent with age.
