| Reverse description | Central square perforation flanked on each side by a single Manchu script character in relief, read vertically and divided by the central hole: 'Boo' (ᠪᠣᠣ) to the left and 'Su' (ᠰᡠ) to the right, together identifying the issuing mint as the Suzhou treasury (Boo-su). The Manchu characters are rendered in a cursive style typical of late Qing cash coinage, set against a plain, flat field with no additional ornamentation. The reverse surface shows a noticeably more worn and lower-relief strike compared to the obverse. |
