| Reverse description | The reverse displays two Manchu script characters arranged vertically on either side of the central square perforation, reading from left to right as 'Boo-je' (ᠪᠣᠣ ᠵᡝ), identifying the issuing mint as the Board of Revenue (Hubu) in Beijing. The characters are cast in relief within a plain, unadorned field, consistent with standard Qing dynasty cash coin practice. The strokes are characteristic of Manchu script as used on official imperial coinage of the period. |
