Reverse description Central square perforation surrounded by a raised square border, with the field between the inner border and the outer rim left largely plain. A single Chinese ideogram in Regular script (Kaishu) is placed below the central square hole, reading 二 (Er, meaning 'Two'), denoting the second year of the Baoqing reign period (1226). The reverse is otherwise unadorned, consistent with standard Southern Song dynasty cast cash coinage practice for year-denominated issues.
