| Obverse description | Cast bronze cash coin featuring a central square perforation surrounded by a raised inner rim. Four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) are arranged symmetrically in the four cardinal positions around the central hole, reading clockwise: 大 (Da), 康 (Kang), 元 (Yuan), 寶 (Bao), together forming the reign-era inscription 'Dakang Yuanbao'. The characters are separated by the inner square rim and set within a plain, unadorned field. A raised outer rim frames the entire design. The coin displays the typical flat, undecorated aesthetic of Liao dynasty cast coinage. |
