Beschrijving keerzijde Plain reverse field featuring a single Chinese character 丁 (Đinh) cast in relief at a variable position — either at the top or bottom of the central square perforation depending on the variety. The character serves as a dynastic mark identifying the issuing Đinh dynasty. The inner and outer raised rims are present, and the remainder of the field is otherwise uninscribed and flat, typical of early Vietnamese cast cash coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

Đinh Bộ Lĩnh unified the fractured "Twelve Warlords" period and founded the short-lived Đinh dynasty in 968, establishing the first independent Vietnamese imperial state after nearly a millennium of Chinese domination. This cash issue — among the earliest distinctly Vietnamese coins ever struck — predates the subsequent Lê and Lý dynasties that would build on Đinh's administrative framework. The dynasty itself lasted barely a decade; Đinh Bộ Lĩnh was assassinated in 979, his six-year-old successor deposed within months.
