Obverse description Central square hole surrounded by an inner raised rim, with four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in cruciform fashion reading top, bottom, right, left: 大德通寶 (Da De Tong Bao). The characters are well-formed and set within a plain inner field, bounded by a raised inner rim and a broad outer rim. The overall style is typical of Yuan dynasty cast coinage, with clean strokes and balanced spacing around the central perforation.
