Đại Trị was the reign title of Trần Dụ Tông, whose rule is remembered less for monetary policy than for catastrophic military failure and personal dissolution — Vietnamese chronicles describe him as consumed by gambling and alcohol while Cham forces under Chế Bồng Nga repeatedly raided the kingdom's southern territories. The coins produced under this reign title circulated through a court already visibly losing its grip on the country.
Toda's catalog remains the foundational reference for these cash issues, though attribution between genuine period strikes and later imitations can be difficult without die study. The square hole tolerances on authenticated examples tend to be notably consistent.
