Reverse description The reverse displays a central square perforation surrounded by a raised inner rim and outer border rim, with the field otherwise plain except for two Chinese ideograms indicating the regnal year. The character 十 (Shi, ten) is placed above the square hole and 六 (Liu, six) below, together reading 十六 (Shi Liu, Year 16), corresponding to the sixteenth year of the Chunxi era (1189). The characters are cast in raised relief in Regular script and are notably more lightly rendered than those on the obverse, consistent with standard Southern Song mint practice for year-marked cash coinage.
