A beaded or rope border runs along the inner periphery of the flan. Below the monogram, the initials W H V K appear, identifying local Danish colonial officials or mint masters associated with the Tranquebar establishment. The crown surmounting the DOC cipher reinforces the royal authority under which the company operated. |
