| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the interlaced double C5 royal cypher of King Christian V of Denmark, rendered in a decorative interlaced monogram style. The two mirrored letter C forms flank a central numeral 5, with the last two digits of the regnal year divided to either side of the monogram. The entire device is surmounted by a stylised royal crown, occupying the upper portion of the irregularly shaped flan. The design is bold and deeply struck in the characteristic crude style of Danish Indian coinage. |

| Reverse description | Central field bears the crowned interlaced DOC monogram of the Danish East India Company (Dansk Ostindisk Kompagni), rendered in an ornate, interlinked cipher style typical of 17th-century company coinage. A beaded or rope border runs along the inner periphery of the flan. Below the monogram, the initials W H V K appear, identifying local Danish colonial officials or mint masters associated with the Tranquebar establishment. The crown surmounting the DOC cipher reinforces the royal authority under which the company operated. |
