Obverse description Cast brass cash coin of standard round form with a central square perforation, displaying the four-character reign title legend in regular script (kaishu) arranged in the traditional reading order — top, bottom, right, left — around the central square hole. The characters 崇禎通寶 (Chongzhen Tongbao) are rendered in bold, well-defined strokes within a plain, unadorned field. Inner and outer raised rims frame the legend on both sides of the coin, conforming to the standard northern-type Ming cash format. The casting is typical of late Ming production, showing characteristic surface granularity and patination consistent with bronze alloy oxidation.
