Obverse description Central square hole flanked by four Chinese ideograms arranged in the traditional reading order — top, bottom, right, left — rendered in elegant seal script (zhuanshu). The characters 重和通寶 (Chonghe Tongbao) occupy the four quadrants of the obverse field, with each character set within its own quadrant defined by the raised rim and the central perforation. The seal script style imparts fluid, rounded strokes to each character, consistent with the refined artistic aesthetic of the Northern Song court under Emperor Huizong. The raised rim is well-defined and frames the composition cleanly.
