Obverse description Central square hole flanked by four Chinese ideograms arranged in cruciform reading order: top to bottom and right to left, together forming the reign title and denomination legend 景興通寶 (Cảnh Hưng Thông Bảo). The characters are cast in low relief within a plain inner rim, surrounded by a raised outer rim. The script is regular-style (kaishu) Chinese calligraphy typical of Vietnamese cash coinage of the Lê dynasty period.
