| Obverse description | Cast round coin with a central square hole, bearing four Chinese ideograms in regular script (kaishu) arranged in cruciform fashion around the central perforation, read clockwise from top: 景 (Cảnh), 通 (Thông), 興 (Hưng), 寶 (Bảo). The legend reads 景興通寶, denoting the reign era of Emperor Lê Hiển Tông (1740–1786) and signifying 'universal currency.' The characters are raised in relief against a flat, unadorned field, typical of Vietnamese cast cash coinage of the period. |
