| 裏面の説明 | Plain reverse field with a central square hole surrounded by a raised inner rim and a raised outer border. Two Chinese ideograms in regular script appear in the field, one to the right and one to the left of the central perforation, reading 山南 (Sơn Nam), identifying the province of issue. The remainder of the field is smooth and devoid of additional ornamentation, consistent with standard Vietnamese provincial cash coinage of the period. |

Cảnh Hưng was the reign title of Lê Hiển Tông, whose 46-year reign from 1740 to 1786 produced one of the most prolific and varied cash coin series in Vietnamese numismatic history — over 600 catalogued varieties bearing his reign title alone. The Sơn Nam designation on this piece identifies the casting province, a practice the Vietnamese adopted to track regional mint output and combat widespread counterfeiting that plagued the Lê monetary system throughout this period.
By mid-reign, real authority had long since passed to the Trịnh lords, who controlled the northern administration and its mints. The emperor reigned; the Trịnh governed.
