Obverse description Central square hole flanked by four Chinese characters arranged in the traditional cross pattern, read top to bottom and right to left in regular script (kaishu). The four ideograms 景興通寶 (Cảnh Hưng Thông Bảo) occupy the top, bottom, right, and left positions respectively around the central perforation. The characters are boldly rendered within a plain inner rim and an outer raised rim, with no additional decorative elements in the field.
