Obverse description Central square hole surrounded by a plain inner rim and a broad flat field bearing four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), arranged in cruciform reading order: 景 (top), 興 (right), 巨 (bottom), 寶 (left), together forming the reign-title legend 景興巨寶 (Cảnh Hưng Cự Bảo). The characters are boldly cast in relief against the flat field, with a small dot present as a mint or batch distinguishing mark. The outer rim is raised and moderately wide, consistent with standard Vietnamese Lê Dynasty cash coinage of the mid-eighteenth century.
