| Opis awersu | Cast bronze cash of the standard Tang dynasty round-with-square-hole form, bearing the four-character inscription 開元通寶 (Kai Yuan Tong Bao) arranged in clerical script around the central square perforation, read top to bottom and right to left. The characters are boldly rendered in raised relief against a flat field, enclosed within an inner rim bordering the central hole and an outer raised rim defining the coin's edge. The calligraphic style is characteristic of the late Tang period, with strokes exhibiting slight wear consistent with circulation. Patches of green cuprite and malachite patina are visible across the surface, attesting to the coin's age and bronze composition. |
