Reverse description Plain reverse field with a central square perforation flanked by raised inner and outer rims. A single Chinese character in regular script (kaishu) appears above the square hole, identifying the mint of issue. The remainder of the reverse field is blank. The surface displays a pronounced green patina with areas of earthen encrustation, typical of Tang dynasty cast coinage recovered from archaeological contexts.
