Reverse description The reverse displays a large auspicious 'Sri' symbol rendered in Kannada/Telugu script, occupying the majority of the central field in bold, deeply struck relief. The character is flanked by symbolic representations of the sun and moon, devices commonly employed on South Indian copper cash coinage as divine auspicious emblems. The script form is characteristic of the Grantha-derived Telugu-Kannada writing tradition. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with a plain, unbordered rim typical of hammered issues of this series.
