| 正面描述 | Circular legend enclosed between two concentric beaded borders. At the centre of the field, the abbreviated royal title REX is displayed surmounted by a crown, serving as the principal design element. The lettering is rendered in Gothic characters characteristic of Angevin coinage of the early fourteenth century. The overall composition is typical of the hammered billon issues struck for the Kingdom of Naples under the Angevin dynasty. |

Charles II died in 1309, making the attribution range here a standard span covering his son Robert of Anjou, who ruled Naples until 1343. The carlino denomination itself was introduced under Charles I of Anjou in the 1270s and remained the backbone of southern Italian silver-billon coinage through the Angevin period. Cuneo — in Piedmont — operated as a mint under Angevin authority during this period, one of several northern outposts issuing currency for the dynasty's sprawling trans-Alpine ambitions.
