Reverse description Circular legend enclosed between two concentric beaded borders. The central device consists of a floriated or fleur-de-lis cross with elaborate foliated terminals filling the four quarters of the field, a hallmark design of Angevin coinage. The cross divides the field into four equal sections, each adorned with fleur-de-lis motifs. The legend, rendered in Gothic Latin characters, identifies the issuer as Count of Piedmont. The coin displays characteristic irregular flan shape and uneven strike consistent with hammered medieval production.
