Obverse description Central shield bearing the personal arms of Grand Master Alof de Wignacourt, divided into two sections: the upper portion displaying a balance scale motif and the lower portion charged with three fleurs-de-lis arranged in a triangular pattern. The escutcheon is displayed in the field without additional supporters. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, separated from the central device by a beaded inner border.

Reverse description The eight-pointed cross of the Order of St. John, rendered as a cross pattée within a quadrilobe or quatrefoil frame, occupying the central field.
