Reverse description The reverse displays a bold long cross dividing the field into four quarters, a standard design motif for late medieval Iberian-influenced Sardinian coinage. Two of the quarters contain the arms of Castile and León — castles and lions rendered schematically — while the remaining quarters bear additional heraldic charges. The abbreviated Latin legend CAS TRI CAL LAR, referencing the territories of Castile, Aragon, and Sardinia, is distributed around the periphery between the arms of the cross. The strike is characteristic of hammered production, with an irregular flan and areas of weakness.
