| Obverse description | Irregular, roughly circular hammered gold flan of uniform bright yellow-gold color. At center, a kiri (paulownia) crest appears above the vertical denomination inscription 壹分 (ichibu, 'one bu') in formal kaisho (regular script) Chinese characters. Below and to the left, the mint name 山下 (Yamashita) is struck vertically in the field. The overall design is minimalistic, consistent with the utilitarian aesthetic of Sengoku-period provincial gold coinage from Kai Province. |
