| Popis líce | The obverse displays two large stylized kiri (paulownia) crests in high relief, one positioned in the upper half and one in the lower half of the rectangular flan, separated by a horizontal dividing line. Each crest is rendered with elaborate foliate and floral detail, characteristic of the hammered Edo-period gold coinage tradition. The entire design is framed by a continuous border of raised pellets running along all four edges of the flan. The denomination characters 一分 (Ichibu, meaning '1 Bu') are incorporated into the central field between the two crests. |

| Popis rubu | The reverse bears large, boldly executed cursive kanji characters in the center of the field, identifying the mint official responsible for assay and certification. The principal character 光 (Mitsu) dominates the central field in a flowing, semi-cursive style, with the authorization characters 正 (Sei) and 次 (tsugu) appearing in a rectangular cartouche in the upper right corner, together constituting the signature of the mint official Sei Mitsutsugu. The field is striated with fine parallel lines, a characteristic finishing technique of Edo-period ichibu-kin gold coinage, and the design is enclosed within the same raised pellet border as the obverse. |
